We’ve been hard at work preparing for season 8 of Middle Tech during the off season, and we’ve got some fun updates to share. Let’s jump in!

Eight years ago, Middle Tech started as a passion project—a way to bring more awareness to Kentucky’s startup and tech ecosystem. Today, it’s turning into a full-fledged business, and we’re making big moves to take it to the next level.

Going Full-Time to Build the Something Bigger
After years of balancing Middle Tech as a side project, I (Logan) have officially gone full-time to expand the brand, scale DevelopLex, and build a media company dedicated to building community around economic development in Kentucky.

Valent: Bringing AI to RFPs
Meanwhile, Evan has been building Valent, an AI platform built to accelerate the RFP response process. With a talented team based in Lexington, the company is pushing forward into AI-driven innovation—something that will be a huge focus for Kentucky’s economy in the coming years.

What’s Next?

• More high-production content – Expect deep dives into major Kentucky companies, including an exclusive episode with Governor Beshear and a look at Valvoline’s AI initiatives.

• Expanded events & meetups – AI meetups, workshops, and new event partnerships will bring Kentucky’s tech community together like never before.

• DevelopLex growth – More real estate and economic development coverage, plus the potential for expansion into new markets.

Middle Tech has always been about shining a light on innovation happening in our backyard. As we enter this next phase, we’re excited to build something even bigger.
