The Company: Amplify Startups

Amplify Startups is a state funding organization that supports entrepreneurs and innovation in the greater Louisville area with resources, connections, and event programing.

What We Discussed: The past, present, and future of Amplify startups and the complicated dynamic between government and startup innovation.

Prior to Amplify, the state and city of Louisville struggled to bring together a cohesive team and strategy to grow the startup and innovation community; however, that is changing thanks to Larry and his team. We touch on the learnings that came prior to Amplify, what they are changing, and how they plan to navigate the future. We also touched on what government funding entails and why it can sometimes be at odds with the realities founders and the startup community face.
