In the Spotlight: Darrin Murriner and Kirsten Moorefield

Hi friends!

On this week’s episode, we sat down with the Cloverleaf founders to discuss what has changed since we last spoke to them on episode 179 back in January of 2022. The team just completed a $7m Series A financing and is set to experience major growth in the coming years as they invest more deeply in their existing technology and expand their team.

The Company: Cloverleaf

Cloverleaf is a platform that enhances team performance through personalized coaching and behavioral insights. By integrating tools like strength-based assessments and continuous, automated coaching, Cloverleaf helps teams improve communication, collaboration, and overall effectiveness.

Our team has used this product in the past and loved. The insights are invaluable and the user experience is extremely simple and convenient.

What We Discussed: Cloverleaf sales growth, opinions on GenAI, and how they plan to deploy their latest round of funding

Darrin, Kirsten, and team have tripled revenue since we last spoke to them and have plans to grow even more. After focusing on enterprise customers, they have found a great balance of direct sales and channel sales which they detail in the discussion. We also discussed how they plan to leverage GenAI and their thoughts on how it can be used and positioned in the HR and coaching industries. Finally, we talk about what their fundraising experience has been over the years and their plans to deploy capital in the years to come.

What You Can Learn by Listening:

  1. Why coaching is so important: Teams need to be coached. More specifically, they need to be coached on how to work effectively together. This requires a level of empathy and understanding for one another that is very hard to come by but the Cloverleaf team makes that easy.

  2. How to build a great sales channel strategy: Incentives, incentives, incentives. You have to align incentives.

  3. How to think about failure: Kirsten dives into how she pushes through the stress and pain that comes along with entrepreneurship and why balance and rest are so important.
